A new treatment for an enlarged prostate Gland (BPH) called pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) is now on trial. PEMF is a noninvasive treatment using an electrical and magnetic field and is currently used in neurology, orthopaedics and urology.
It has an anti-inflammatory effect and increases healing and blood circulation. The theory for treatment of BPH is that it improves prostate blood flow and reduces the size of the prostate gland.
With increase blood flow to the prostate gland this new treatment may also help to prevent secondary complications caused by reduced blood such as prostatitis which is inflammation of the prostate gland.
Of course, this could well be a few years away from mainstream treatment. In the meantime our Prostamax with beta sitosterol offers a natural treatment and will help to shrink an enlarged prostate gland.
